Description[]

Amura is a warm terra located 125.54 light years from Earth. It is one of four planets (Other three being Voodovevor, Notop, and Oso) that orbit around a star called Beid (Omicron1 Eridani) and it is about 2.90 AU from the star. It alongside Notop are binary planets, orbiting around one another while making them both position second from Beid. Amura only has one moon, a titan called Tillo. It and all other objects in the system except for Voodovevor have life on them.

The planet is 366.175 million years old; meaning it has been around since the Devonian period on Earth, making the life there relatively young. Although the planet has oxygen in the atmosphere for the life evolving there, there is a high concentration of carbon dioxide; meaning it is still unsuitable for humans to breathe (it could be breathable, but not for long). This is also combined with a higher gravity makes it slightly uncomfortable to walk on the surface.

Amura was name after the Amern's Star Association, the discoverers of Amura. It has been under the control of various civilization until it was under the Confederation of the Sol in 6544.

Climate[]

The average temperature on Amura is 352.553 K (or 79.403 degrees Celsius), making the planet relatively very hot. This is due to its proximity to Notop, which causes tidal heating to not only Amura, but to Notop itself. The planet's climate overall is very dry, comparable to a grassland or a savanna environment with mild precipitation and intense heat from the star's light. The times that precipitation occurs, they tend be formed in open ocean and most often happened on land during the cooler season. Also, because Notop is very close to Amura, tidal waves are not uncommon, with some reaching about 60 feet.

It has an tilt of about 20 degrees, so one season would last about 7 days, so they will go by very fast. Each season, the temperature of the planet would almost maintain constant temperature all year round. The lowest temperature recorded so far was 14.765 degrees Celsius on De'Ilta'Zamotti in one mild winter while the highest temperature recorded so far was close to 100 degrees Celsius on Crater Bay in Ikiland; so it is a big temperature difference on each parts of the planet.

The planet is so hot that water would most evaporate very often, causing droughts all over the planet. It is not uncommon for animals (except for a few) to migrate out of interior of the mainland to migrate towards rivers or the coast and then come back in to during the cooler seasons. Despite the heat, water does escape into space. The pressure of the planet's atmosphere combined with gravity prevents the water from evaporating into space.

Map of Amura

Features[]

Amura’s landscape is mostly grasslands but there are mountains, forest, plains, hills, and occasional volcanoes. Despite being hot and dry, no deserts are found on this planet.

Amura003

Geographic Labels of Amura

Amura has four continent with several islands, mostly located in the northern hemisphere. They are the major continents of Rahamossarr, Ikiland, S'Segar'Rr, and L'Iura. It also includes a minor continent and a group of islands such as De'Ilta'Zamotti, Gegaiogoikin, and Baker's Chain.

Amura004

Gsklava Mountains

Rahamossarr - The largest continent in Amura. It is home to Gsklava Mountain range located on the west side of the continent which is a regarded as a religious to a sapient life there. It is also home to Styfuun Bay located south of the Gsklava Mountain range where it is the artery for most goods and supplies to be bought in. The continent is also rich in resources such as metals like iron and gold, which are mostly found in the central region of Rahamossarr for use of jewelry and part of weaponry.

Amura005

Styfuun Bay

Ikiland - The continent west of Rahamossarr and the most southern major continent with its southern being Cape Rood. It is home to Crater Bay, a hotspot for aerial watching of flying organisms who breed there during the autumn season, and Morro Bay where it it is the place of a mysterious statue that the local inhabitants shunned it. It was found in the water and the origins of this statue remains unknown. Ikiland is also the most fertile continent, so farmlands are almost everywhere on the continent. Despite being a fertile area, drought are not uncommon in the area. In fact, droughts on Ikiland are the most often frequent of any other continents, which could something lead to devastating results on farms. The drought has gone one step far that it lead to crop failure that cause a famine that cost the lives of 3 million native inhabitants who rely on farms for their living, which became known as the the Great Drought of Ikiland (6799-6800).

L'Iura - The continent, which is split between west and east L'Iura (named after where it is located on the map, not geographic position; so technically, the western part of L'Iura [geographically] is East L'Iura) is the most biodiverse of the all of the continents with as many as 100 species on the continent, concentrated in the central and northern regions. It also has the largest Ry'Oo (as they called it), which is a large area with barely any vegetation and mostly rock, located in the south-central part of L'Iura, but no significant resources are found in the area. The Urpelt Strait, located to L'Iura is a gateway for the continent to Rahamossarr since this continent is the least economically developed area of any continents.

Amura006

L'Iura from space

S'Segar'Rr - The most northern major continent. It is famous for the Low, a strait south of S'Segar'Rr know for being a heavy area for catching sea life for food. The Low's name is refers to the mostly flater terrain on both S'Segar'Rr and L'Iura, not name from the low and calm waves. In fact, it and the Ipsky Strait have recorded to have very high waves which causes damage to settlements near those areas by tsunamis flooding those areas.

"The Low?!? What kind of name is that? Am I going lower and lower, then boom I touch the bottom." -Allen Fall

De'Ilta'Zamotti - They are 9 islands north of Rahamossarr in the Sea North of Atalofa. The group of islands are most northern lands in Amura with the most northern island being R'Achallam'Os Island. Even though they are islands, they don't grow crops in the area because of flooding. This is combined with droughts makes it hard to raise livestock there. As a result, the islands are economically depended on Rahamossarr for goods, though they are also depending on the sea for their lives (though not abundant).

Gegaiogoikin - Also known as East Gegaiogoikin, they are 5 islands located in the Scemsemitai Ocean and Ka'Pa'Ippska Sea. It is home to the most southern land on Amura; Julop'p Island.

Amura007

R'Achallam'Os Island

Baker's Chain - Also known as West Gegaiogoikin, they are 5 islands located Scemsemitai Ocean and the Sea of Mant'Calurr'Aa. The islands are the most volcanically active, the last eruption on of the islands was in 7133. Although volcanically active, no reports of eruption had occured as of yet. The island chain is named after Joseph Hart Baker who observed these islands, but they are locally referred to as Gegaigoikin.

Flora and Fauna[]

Examples of Flora:

Pot Plant - Named from the shape of the which resembles a pot. It is four modified leaves that fused together to form a very tight "pot". These are the few plants that can survive long period of drought as were adapted to hold lots of water for storage before they will be used for later; about 3 to 4 gallons to be exact. In addition, the roots of the pot plants are especially designed to absorbed water underground as well as capturing rainwater or water via absorption by the stem and they expelled into the "pot" for later use. This is one of the most widely used by the inhabitants as it's a good source of water when water is scarce. During the warmer season, the pot plant will regulate its water storage to give itself a drink while still getting food from the sun. During the colder season, the plant expelled all the water back into the storage where fills it, then a flexible, but tough transparent membrane will seal the water to prevent overflow, which causes it to expand like a water balloon. This is to create maximum drink intake after cooler days. When a sufficient amount of water is collect, the plant will go into a state of hibernation and remain until it the season is over, after which will remove the water back to managable levels with the membrane removed. If the membrane was popped during its hibernation, it will slowly die, the reason is not well understood. When they die naturally (if remaining intact), the water is sent back to storage which activate and expand the membrane. That membrane pops which drops the water out of it. This is an advantage since this provide almost enough for the new plants to grow (they reproduce via runners).

"What the f*** is this. Is this drinkable? Well that's f***ed up. I've never seen something like this just pop up and say 'Hello, this water is for free and I make them'. That's genius" -Allen Fall

Amuran Cactus - They resemble Earth cactus, but lack any thorns or flowers. Instead, it is a giant mostly spongy tissue plant that protrudes out of the ground with occasional branching out. Like pot plants, they survive long periods without water as they are mostly made of water and also reproduce via runners. They are edible to the inhabitants with high vitamin contents.

Ghost Trees - They are found in forests region, but are commonly found in savannas. While resemble ordinary birch-like trees during the day, they glow yellow at night. This is the only plant that produce bioluminescence.

On'Pa Moss - A small moss-like plant found near the coast or bodies of water. They are suprisingly edible to the inhabitants and edible for human consumption.

Beanfruit - Named for the fruit that looks like a bean. Another plant that is cultivated. They are poisonous in their raw state, unless cooked. A symbiotic bacteria resides in the fruit of the plant produces cyanide. However, it edible to human as the fruit of the plant has the same amount of cyanide as one almond, though they still have to be careful and not to eat too much.

Lokans - Ash-like trees that produce small pods that irritate the skin of any animal. Not edible due to being poisonous to both humans and native wildlife. It is use by the inhabitant as natural barrier as these plants also secrete a chemical that deters animals away from it.

Aparmalus - It is a shurb that produces apple like fruits that are used by inhabitants for perfume. The name Aparmalus comes the Amuri word "A'Par" (meaning "Beauty") and Malus (refers to the apple genus). The other name for Aparmalus is Spray Apple.

Examples of Fauna:

Amura Dragon - Large herbivores that have frills on their heads for defense against other animals found on all four of the major continents. They are mostly hunted for their meat, hide, and headgear, but due to their fast reproduction and high numbers, they are constantly refresh in numbers. In S'Segar'Rr, Amura Dragons are raised in a farm field and after a certain age, they are slaughtered.

Legless Dragon - They are small and reptilian like in appearance, possessing four wings and lack eye sight; they use echolocation. They are rarely seen on the ground as they spend most of their life flying in the skies between the height of about 0.9 km to 11 km above sea level eating the small microbes and other legless dragon, only going down to the ground to breed or to rest. They earned their name from the lack of any leg, meaning the ancestor of Legless Dragons have leg but maybe due to lack function and the development of second wings, the legs are reduced. They still possessed legs, though they are small and the only remaining part of the leg is a sharp nail use for grabbing on to cliff edges. Legless Dragons are famous for two reason: When they reach the end of life, they will die while in the air and they soon fall down which is one majestic scene seeing one falling, which is also sort of dangerous since they can hit on an unsuspected person which can lead to minor injuries. The other reason is the fact that they are small, it makes it threat to spaceship entering Amura. Due to their size and huge numbers, they can easily get hit by spaceships which causes damage to the spaceship, similar on Earth where bird can hit aircraft. It became an issue that it earned the name “Dragship” as result where part of a spaceship is hit by a Legless Dragon.

“Oh jeez, we are experiencing a dragship” -Jordon Sol (in the spaceship and alerted the crew)

Phito'Par - They are organisms that are similar to primates, except having features similar to Amuri, which could mean they are closely related. They are seen walking bipedally looking for fruit or seeds. Due to their similarities to Amuri, they are most often mistaken as one aside from being naked, lacked the head gear, and no signs of sapience.

Xenoequis - Amura's equivalent of horse, which are used for transport. They do resemble horses on Earth, but are smaller, lack hair, having possessing two horns, and possessing four toed feet instead of hooves. They are mainly in shades of black or in a pattern of black and brown (often called Cow Horses or Cow Mules). Jordon Sol and Allen Star had ridden on them, though it didn't go really well.

Spear Wing - They are like Legless Dragons, except having a spear like head which is sharp enough to impale a human. In addition, they are marine so unlike the Dragons, they swim with a heavy body and wing flippers. They are a serious threat to the Amuris due to their aggressive nature, big numbers, and the fact that they can leap on to boats.

"Holy S***! Get that thing off the boat, you freaking bastard!" -Allen Fall (when a spear wing was on the boat)

Beaklegs/Spikelegs - They are large herbivores that have spike appendages on their legs used for defense. Despite their scary appearance, they then to docile and rarely chase other animals away.

Manedogs - As the name suggests, they are canine like organisms that have manes like lions, used for display and intimidation. They are sacred to the Amuri and they are widely respected. They respected them so much that anyone kill a manedog will be immediately sent to Wa'Riid (it is basically putting someone on a small raft far away from land and leaving them their for 3 days before being picked up again); so they take them so seriously, as like they keep them as pets for hunting and because of their docile nature, they tend to not be that aggressive. Yard Arnold used to have one until it was killed by a charging Amuran Dragon.

Amuri[]

The Amuri are the native inhibatants of Amura. They resemble humans, except for some major body anatomies. They skin is orange-yellow in color, no body hair, possessing three fingers on the hand, four toes on the feet, a head covering made up of keretain (like human hair and the purpose of which is still not understood), pointy ears (giving them an elf-like appearance), and they have a short stature (due to gravity). They can talk, but sounds like a very deep voice of a teenager. They mostly in a live semi-nomadic lifestyle living in groups of 5 to a 2500 individuals lead by H'Mir or Chief, though some have develop small villages and towns, such as settlements in Rahamossarr, Ikiland, The Low Region, and Urpelt Strait Region.

The language is very unusual and that it heavily uses a lot of glottal stops combined with some polysynthetic. One example would be:

"Vvgy'Oppqo'Typoqrtrr'Macchoomanata'Oratohassarappiam'Ponopaponopapon'E'Freemacqhida'Opaqfrgudarqotdofifaffoofoaj'Nemomnwenaobapsebliksemnerfska"

"Uhh.. what in the actual world is this?" -Jordon Sol

Amuri follow customs made by the H'Mir and the council that H'Mir is affiliated to. If any Amuri violates any of the rules, they are expelled from Amuran society and remain isolated until they are ordered by the chief or joining another tribe away from the former tribe. If any return to the tribe, they are either exiled or are immediately executed (typically in a ritual ceremony in front of a crowd).

It is estimated the population of the Amuri is around 55,000,000, which makes them the largest native organism in Amura and the only sapient organism. There is small minority of foreigners outside Amura, which includes humans, residing in the planet, mostly concentrating in the areas near the Styfuun Bay area. Amuri and Humans did interbreed, which resulted in hybrids called Amurinese. This is not to be confused with Amuran, which is someone born and from Amura, but doesn't have to be always be an Amuri. These Amurinese are can a human of partially or mostly Amuri blood or an Amuri with partially or mostly human blood, whatever the case they are considered a family.

Clans[]

Amura009

Clans of Amura

There are 5 clans on Amura, 1 clans on Notop, and 1 clan on Tillo. Though the various sub-clans and tribes live semi nomadically under a chief, all trade with each other with their supplies such as exports and likely for the purpose of regulation and maintain the system of trade, the various tribes form something close to a government that lead the various sub-clans together on one continent by installing an electoral chief to become elder chief and run the entire clan and each of the elder chief of each clan later formed the Grand Amura Council. The Amuri write and pass their ancient history via symbols located in Fiber Sheets (their of equivalent paper) and when translated correctly would reveal their founding and how they are started initially. However, these are estimation because there could be errors or outdated information regarding each of the clans.
There is also a rogue located further away from Amura in a cold titan which is in constant conflict with the main clans on Amura, Notop, and Tillo.

Amura010

Atalofa (prior to year 5500) under the Iki clan.

Amura011

Atalofa (post year 5500) with the Nakwallala to its east taking over a smaller unnamed clan.

Atalofa - The largest and most influential clan overall in Amura, having most of the control of Amura's trade. Formed in 5500 after spliting off from the Iki clan, Atalofa is also the home seat of the Grand Amuran Council based in the settlement next to Styfuun Bay and was one of the founders of the Grand Amuran Council. The Atalofa clan, because of its connection to the Iki clan have similar people from that particular clan, so the Iki clan is sort of the father of the Atalofa clan, it was even nicknamed "Iki 2.0" or "Minor Iki".

Iki - The oldest living clan, been around since 2007 (Yes, since the 21st century), in the area near the Morro Bay. They are the most fertile clan, which means they grow good quality crops and export a lot of their crops to the other clans, especially on crops such as Pot Plants and Beanfruits. But due to the frequent droughts, the clan would need to limit their exportation during certain days to provide the crops needed for their own population. The clan is one of the founders of the Grand Amuran Council alongside the Atalofa and Rumbatii.

Amura012

Sca, Ga, and Lura

Sc'Ga'Lura - Formed from three seperate clans that unified together. They are Sca, Ga, and Lura, each of whom have varying forms of autonomy under the Klas'Tri'A'Apar or the Council of three based I near the Urpelt Strait. It is Amura’s sort of the equivalent of the Outback, being sparsely populated, mostly dry, and remote. It is a biodiverse area, meaning it is a hotspot wildlife observation.

“It’s safari time” -Allen Fall

Though a safari hotspot, the clan is highly underdeveloped because of its past conflict with the Rumbatii and Nakwallala, which impedes its development, but has recently started to build up when the Atalofa clan provide things to the Sca'Ga'Lura. The clan is also known for frequent Xenoequis rides as part of their culture. What is unusual is that it also consist of an island off the coast of a peninsula in S'Segar'Rr, which is part of the Rumbatii clan. This island however is more closely related to the tribe on mainland L'Iura because of the similar Xenoequis culture and the claims that the inhabitants are descendants of those from Sca that fled during the fighting.

Amura013

Trans River, the site of the Battle of the Trans River between the Rumbatii and the Greater Ga clan.

Rumbatii - The third oldest surviving clan, formed in 2432 in the Low. It is a “fishing” hub of Amura as abundance of marine life in the clan’s water. Around the time of its formation, there are at least 50 other clans within S’Segar’Rr. Most of these clans are later conquered by the Rumbatii, mostly by force making the continent of S'Segar'Rr have the most wars fought on its soil. It ended when the entire continent was conquered except for Ga and the various smaller clans agree to split the continent in four with some forms of autonomy. Even still though, to this day, there are still some tribes that function independently from the main clan and don't rely on them.

Amura014

Zamottii, prior to 7109

Zamottii - They are the youngest clan in the Grand Amuran Clan. It split from the Amura clan in 7109, which comprise of most of De'Ilta'Zamotti (The islands they occupied are Zkenelleknop, Mauura, R'Achallamos'Os, Rygor, Mintamisss, and Orocan'Natoastt). They follow a matrilineal society unlike the rest of Amura. They main reason they split off is over a bias that Atalofa would treated female Amurans as "second class citizens" which is what the population to the north hated. Initially, they used to occupy the islands north of Rahamossarr but another island split off the Sca'Ga'Lura clan and joined the Zamottii. While they are economically dependent on Atalofa, they have the best quality of living overall when it comes to their kind of lifestyle and while they are small, they are politically very powerful, almost in line to that of Atalofa.

Amura015

Nakwallala at its height

Nakwallala - The second oldest surviving clan, founded in 2133 and currently residing in Notop. Before the Atalofa, they used to be the largest clan in Rahamossarr until they progressively lose power by the expanding Iki clan and the emerging Atalofa clan combined with progressively worse elder chiefs lead to its downfall. After they were defeated, they tried to reestablished their clan and with the help of the Confederation of the Sol, they settled in a new home, Notop, which used to be furthur away from Amura.

Amura016

Notop

Despite settling in their new home, they have face challenges because of the rise of clans that challenge the Nakwallala and threating its status, in which raiding by rogue clans became almost a daily occurance, many of these clans have ideologies that are mostly closely Osoan. It is also the most dangerous clan to live in not only because of constant rogue clan raids, but also because of dangerous wildlife found on Notop, so many of the Amuran leaders have been advised to avoid Notop unless permitted.

Amura017

Nakwallala (Current Situation)

Despite their situation, they are still clinging on and with the aid of the Confederation of the Sol, have successful fought off rogue clans. Members of a rogue clan that were caught are sent to labour.

Amura018

Tillo

Nickomakawalla - A clan based in Tillo and the farthest from Amura. It was formed in L'Iura and used to occupy Rygor Island, but has since been take by the Sca'Ga'Lura clan and most of the members of the clan fleed south to Baker's Chain.

Amura019

Nickomakawalla

They attempt to make their new home in the chain and did created a short lived clan in the chain, but volcanic eruptions had cause them to abandoned the places they settled in. Most of them land in Atalofa where are assimilated or negotiate with the Atalofan chief for autonomy. Their clan wasn't created again until 6512 when the descendants of members of the migrated to their new home in Tillo where they sit today. They are most diplomatic and foreign affairs, but are mainly conservative and neutral. The moon they reside is very calm, making them the most peaceful clan, but are strict when it comes to those coming to Tillo.

Amura020

Amura Subclans

These clans are divided into sub clan, which intern each sub clan has tribes and each tribe has subtribe, which can get complicated.

"Oh what the?? Okay, my head is exploding. I went Analzoa, they have a complex system and here on this planet, it's no different." -Allen Fall

Amura021

Oso

Oso - Oso is a titan located far away from Amura with an average temperature of 206K, which is cold enough that Amuri and all other organic based life can't survive. It used to have it's own fauna, but all except for one living in the ocean went extinct upon the colonization of Oso in 6767. From that year on wards, it was a penal colony for the Amuris in Amura to send their worse members of society on this planet where they endure harsh labor with unstable condition and very little physiological needs. Most of these Amuri prisoners are mostly criminals, outcasts, and former members of various defunct clans in Amura Oso however was barely guarded with only about 2% of the total population of Oso being part of the penal guard. Combined with the conditions, it became a breeding ground for rise of extreme Amuri sovereignty. Members of former clans together with other prisoners started an uprising against Amura and became a flashpoint to the point where it became a revolt, which lead to the independence of Oso from Amura from several battles including the Battle of the Seven Cliffs.

Amura022

Image of the Seven Cliffs in Oso

The descendants of these former prisoners established a government in Oso and they started calling themselves "Osoans". After Oso became it's own functional entity, it cuts off ties with Amura and established ties with the expanding Empire of Para which is terrible news for Amura, which meant they are now establishing closer ties with the Confederation of the Sol. Amura did not want to attack Oso directly or indirectly since it would fear that it would provoke Para to intervene since Oso and Para alongside Para's allies signed a pact where if a planet was attacked, everyone in the pact respond with force. Also, with the help of Para, they are well defended from Amura, which gives Amura a disadvantage, considering that fact the Confederation of the Sol don't want to attack Oso for the same reason. This is also same reason why Oso also don't want to attack Amura, but are secretly spying on Amura for intelligence gathering and cooperate with rebel clans in Notop to start an uprising and take revenge on Amura. However, the chance of these happening are very slim because of political reasons; they don't want Amura to act and start revolting against them.

Extras[]

  • Yard Arnold is nobleman, priest, diplomat, and mentor of Allen Fall from Kassanghar, who fled to Amura and has since have been going into hiding from the Empire of Para with the protection of the Confederation of the Sol.
  • Jordon Sol hated Legless Dragon so much that he gave the name "Zipp" which is the Analzoan word for "Jerk".
  • Although Amura allies itself with the Confederation of the Sol, they are mainly neutral and stay of affairs while under the protection of the Confederation of the Sol.
  • Yard Arnold is also a member of the Grand Amura Council where he is served as a representative of a subclan of the Atalofa clan based in the Styfuun Bay area.
  • People from Oso are different to those of Amura. Due to the distance, they then to have lighter and sometimes darker skin because of the compensation of light and the extreme cold.
  • In Amura, there are members of Osoan descent that worked with Amura to liberate Oso.
